Some Tasty New Photos Good Enough To Eat

We just completed a monster three-day photo shoot this week and thought we’d provide you with you a little sneak preview of the results. We worked again with the incredibly talented Joyce Pool and her crew at Joyce Oudkerk Pool Photography, who once again crafted some beautiful photographs depicting a sampling of our culinary and beverage programs.

Here are a couple of photos from the event featuring a Grilled Lamb Chop with Polenta Gratin, Brussels, Pancetta and Carmelized Cauliflower and Radicchio Herb Slaw plated entree, and a Desert Station featuring our Lychee Macaroon, Coffee Amber, Petite Hazelnut Mousse, Coconut Panna and Crème Bruleé Egg.

If you Googled “Incredibly Cool Summer Picnic” this would come up No 1.

Looking for inspiration for a fun theme for your next corporate summer event? (Come on, you know we still have more sunny weather coming.) Last week we catered a “Wonkavision” themed summer picnic for 600 adults and 200 kids at Mitchell Park in Palo Alto. All food items and desserts revolved around the original (and best) Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie from the 70’s.

Examples included Mike Teevee “TV” dinners composed to order and served in TV trays (complete with apple sauce) and a station geared towards kids (and some adults who couldn’t resist) with chicken fingers, macaroni & cheese, and “Oompa Loompa” tater tots and a chocolate fountain that no one fell in to, and gourmet popcorn.

Specialty cocktails included special bottled Fizzy Lifting Drink and Jolly Ranchers, and, of course, a Chocolate Martini.

A Little Outside Lands Love From Laughing Squid

Here’s a nice little piece about us from Laughing Squid’s blog last week from Outside Lands. We catered the VIP guests all weekend long and one of their bloggers, Rusty Blazenhoff, asked us if it was okay if she could photograph (and scarf) our tasty Sweet Potato Fries with Marshmallow Sauce and Bacon Crumbles (which was a huge hit by the way).

We did, and she did, and here it is.

Laughing Squid is a blog featuring interesting art, culture and technology as well as a cloud-based web hosting company. They’re also obviously a bunch of foodies. You should check out their blog if you’re into such things and we’re excited to be featured on their blog.

The New Levi’s Store is a Perfect Fit for Market Street

We had the pleasure of catering the grand opening of Levi Strauss’ new flagship store in San Francisco last week, which moved from Union Square to the corner of Market and Fourth Street.

The 7,000-square-foot venue sells all of Levi’s regular inventory of clothes and accessories, a special line of handcrafted denim and leather goods, vintage clothes and products from Bay Area designers, all intermixed with stylish video walls and original artwork by Bay Area artists. The new location will also be one of just two Levi’s stores in the United States to sell custom-made jeans, so get your butt down there and try some on.

Here we have some tray-passed hors d’oeuvres including our new Lobster Roll Bites, Tiny Tombo Tuna Tacos, and lots of specialty cocktails served to their 250 VIP guests celebrating the occasion.

This One Went to “11”

Last night 250 of the event industries’ leading planners were hosted by Live Nation at the historic Fillmore Auditorium for an epic celebration of food, wine, music and design: the International Society of Event Specialists (ISES) annual gala.

Guests enjoyed ‘60’s themed entertainment, specialty cocktails and a delicious three course dinner with wine pairing, followed by desert and dancing into the evening.

Blueprint Studios transformed the venue into an event design wonder! Global Gourmet Catering, the exclusive food and beverage services provider for the Fillmore, was thrilled to present Executive Chef Eric Magnani’s gorgeous Pan Roasted California White Sea Bass “En Barigoule” – Poached Castroville Artichokes, Applewood Smoked Baker’s Bacon, Fennel, Nicoise Olives, Fingerling Potatoes, and California Olive Ranch Arbequina Olive Oil for the entrée.

Grgich Hills provided the delicious wine pairing for our course: their 2010 Napa Valley Chardonnay. A great time was had by all!

Are you ready to ROCK?

On June 15th The Fillmore officially returned as a San Francisco special events destination, with Global Gourmet Catering as the exclusive in-house food and beverage services provider for this amazing venue.

This means not only enjoying a new and expanded menu when attending shows at this historic concert venue, but also the ability to host one-of-a-kind corporate events there with its original concert posters and artwork, extraordinary decor, a long, full bar ideal for entertaining a crowd, and a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system.

Since taking over operations from Wolfgang Puck, Global Gourmet has introduced a whole new expanded menu for all new Fillmore shows moving forward, including a tasty new 1/3LB Pacific Grass Feed Fillmore Beef Burger (pictured below), Chipotle-Black Bean Falafel Wrap, Taco Of the Day, and the old favorite Bill’s “Carnegie” Reuben Sandwich.

We’ve also introduced a new Mixology program to the historic Poster Room bar. Some of the new drinks on the menu include a Moscow Mule, Pinky Dog, Cable Car and Fillmore East Manhattan, in addition to specialty wines and top shelf liquor options.

We couldn’t have asked for a better kick-off event last weekend with a concert featuring The Dandy Warhols (who performed their iconic album Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia in its entirety) with The Shivas as the opener (who also rocked).
